Eberl counters Hoeneß criticism: "To feel means to feel"

Uli Hoeneß once again caused a stir at FC Bayern. The honorary president accused Max Eberl, among other things, of being too "sensitive." Now the sporting director has responded: society is inconsiderate, and he's "only interested in feeling."
At the press conference before the home game against Hamburger SV, one topic was paramount: How would Max Eberl react to Uli Hoeneß's appearance on "Doppelpass"? The honorary president of FC Bayern had expressed some subtle criticism of the sporting director , accusing him, among other things, of being "rather sensitive." Hoeneß also criticized the sporting director's transfer policy. Later, the Bayern boss insisted that he had only wanted to help his sporting director with his strong statements.
Eberl's reaction to Hoeneß's statements: "That stays with me"When Eberl was asked about Hoeneß's statements, the 51-year-old initially responded routinely: "That stays with me, that's who I am. I'm here because I want to do a good job. It's all about football now. We've had a transfer window in which we implemented many things under the guidelines we had. As we envisioned."
Eberl speaks about "reckless people"But the journalists persisted and pressed on. With success: "We're talking about sensitive," Eberl replied. "To feel means to feel; to be willing to fight for something. If you don't feel, if you're just doing a job, (...) then that's very cold." The whole society, he said, is "very cold, very ruthless. People who make decisions in the big world are very ruthless people. And for me, it's about feeling. Because what I do, I do with passion. I'm passionate about it," Eberl added.
Eberl commits to FC Bayern: "My heart is here"In recent weeks, there has been much speculation about Eberl's resignation. After several failed transfers (including Florian Wirtz and Nick Woltemade), the sporting director's transfer policy was under special scrutiny. The 51-year-old has now put a stop to this speculation. "My heart is here. I never considered quitting here. I have far too much planned for that," said Eberl.
Will Eberl accept Hoeneß's proposals? "That would be stupid."Now he wants to put the debate behind him. "I want to be successful at Bayern Munich. That's what I get up for every day. That's what I fight for every day."
After hearing Hoeneß's advice on "Doppelpass," the manager was also asked whether he would exchange ideas with the longtime Bayern boss in the future. "I'd be foolish if I said I didn't learn every day and also listen to people's advice and thoughts," Eberl replied. "Of course, I'll accept anything that helps me be successful."
